Liverpool Held to Goalless Draw by Resilient Leeds at Anfield

Liverpool missed an opportunity to strengthen their grip on a Premier League top-four place after being held to a 0-0 draw by a much-changed Leeds United side at Anfield.

Arne Slot’s men extended their unbeaten run to nine matches, but another below-par attacking display proved costly as Leeds defended resolutely to earn a valuable point and move seven points clear of the relegation zone.

The visitors came closest to snatching victory late on when Dominic Calvert-Lewin found the net, only for the effort to be ruled out for offside.

Leeds, now unbeaten in six matches, have pulled away from relegation danger despite facing the Premier League champions twice during that run.

In contrast to the thrilling 3-3 draw between the sides earlier this month, Daniel Farke’s well-organised defence successfully frustrated Liverpool throughout.
