President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed top security officials to track down and apprehend those responsible for the deadly attack at Kasuwan Daji market in Niger State.
The directive was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the President’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga.
CREEBHILLS reports that terrorists attacked a village market in Kabe District, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, killing nearly 40 people. Several others were also abducted during the assault.
President Tinubu ordered the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) to ensure that the perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice.
He further directed security agencies to urgently rescue all abducted victims.
“These terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people. They must, therefore, face the full consequences of their criminal actions. No matter who they are or what their intent is, they must be hunted down,” the President said.
Tinubu also warned that anyone aiding or abetting the attackers would be identified and prosecuted.
