Paga, PayPal Launch Live Account Linking for Nigerian Users

Nigeria’s pioneering fintech company Paga and global payments platform PayPal have announced the launch of live account linking for customers in Nigeria, enabling seamless access to PayPal-supported cross-border payments through Paga’s digital wallet.

The integration allows users in Nigeria to link their PayPal accounts directly to their Paga wallets, receive international payments from PayPal-supported markets, and withdraw funds locally in Naira. Users can also shop with global PayPal merchants and access their balances within the Paga ecosystem.

With the new feature, Nigerian merchants, freelancers, and entrepreneurs can tap into PayPal’s global network of more than 400 million users worldwide, helping them expand reach and grow internationally.

Through Paga, linked PayPal funds can be used for everyday financial needs, including card spending, transfers to local bank accounts, bill payments, and merchant transactions—creating a smooth bridge between global earnings and local use.

The collaboration is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s financial services ecosystem by promoting cross-border commerce, supporting small business growth, and advancing the country’s digital economic infrastructure.

“We are proud to make this integration live and available to users across Nigeria,” said Tayo Oviosu, Founder and Group CEO of Paga.
“Whether you’re a freelancer receiving international payments, a business selling online, or a consumer shopping globally, this collaboration makes it easier to access and use global funds locally in a way that’s simple, secure, and built for our markets.”
