Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has issued a strong warning to individuals impersonating her on social media, particularly on TikTok, vowing to pursue legal action against anyone caught scamming in her name.
The actress revealed that a woman has been posing as her on TikTok and allegedly extorting money from unsuspecting fans, while also reposting her original content and presenting it as authentic.
In a video broadcast, Tonto Dikeh stated that security agencies are already tracking the impersonator and made it clear that she would not be deterred by public pressure if the suspect is apprehended.
“I know my impersonator is a girl because we have been trailing you, the police are on you,” she said.
Addressing the suspect directly, the actress added, “To the girl who is impersonating me on TikTok, collecting money from people, scamming people and also scamming me because you are taking my contents and posting on your TikTok page not as a fan page, but posing to be me.
“I just want to tell you that when I catch you, nobody is going to save you. Only Jesus will save you. Because I’m not the kind of person that social media would make me back down. You will definitely go to jail.”
Tonto Dikeh urged her fans to remain vigilant and avoid engaging with or sending money to accounts claiming to be her, except those officially verified.
