Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor announced on Friday, February 27, that he moved to the APC alongside his entire cabinet and all officials of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Fintiri explained that his decision was driven by what he described as the developmental interest of the people of Adamawa State, noting that the move would help align the state more closely with the federal government.
His defection comes amid a series of recent high-profile political shifts, with governors such as Agbu Kefas of Taraba State, Abba Yusuf of Kano State, and Caleb Muftwang of Plateau State also reportedly joining the ruling party.
The development marks a significant shift in Nigeria’s political landscape as the APC continues to consolidate its influence across key states.
