Millionaire Kuwaiti businessman Fawaz Al-Hasawi was injured after masked assailants allegedly broke into his home in Mayfair, central London, in what authorities believe was an attempted robbery.
The 57-year-old was reportedly asleep when the group forced entry into the property. During a confrontation inside his bedroom, Al-Hasawi sustained a hand injury and a neck wound, along with scratches, while trying to fend off the attackers.
It is not yet clear whether the suspects escaped with valuables such as jewellery or luxury watches, items the businessman is known to display on social media.
His legal team has urged the Metropolitan Police to provide additional information about those involved, noting concerns among visitors from the Arabian Gulf about security in the UK capital.
Police confirmed thatAl-Hasawi injuries were neither life-threatening nor life-altering and said investigations remain ongoing.
Al-Hasawi’s sister, Khawla Mubarak Al-Hasawi, reassured well-wishers in a social media post, expressing gratitude for his safety and offering prayers for his protection and that of his son.
Al-Hasawi previously owned Nottingham Forest, acquiring the club in 2012 before selling it in 2017 to Evangelos Marinakis. His five-year tenure saw frequent managerial changes, with nine appointments during that period.
The incident comes amid a string of high-profile burglaries. Broadcaster Maya Jama and Ruben Dias of Manchester Citywere recently targeted while away from their Cheshire residence, with reports of significant losses including designer items and electronics.
In a separate case, Melanie Hamrick, fiancée of Mick Jagger, said she was assaulted during a night out at Annabel’s in Mayfair. She later shared on social media that she was shaken by the experience but thankful for friends who intervened.
Authorities are continuing investigations into the various incidents.
