La Liga Criticises Premier League Over Manchester City Charges

La Liga: Three arrested in Spain for racist abuse at El Clasico

La Liga president Javier Tebas has criticised the Premier League for the delay in reaching a decision on the 115 financial charges brought against Manchester City.

More than three years have passed since the charges were filed against the reigning English champions. In that period, other clubs such as Nottingham Forest and Everton have received points deductions for breaching financial regulations.

Tebas suggested that the prolonged process raises concerns about how major clubs are handled within the league structure.

“Other clubs are watching what’s happening and seeing how things are being dealt with,” he said.

“It’s okay if you get fined or lose points for not following the rules. But City seem to be getting away with it, which weakens the Premier League as an organization.”

Manchester City have consistently denied any wrongdoing, while the Premier League’s proceedings remain ongoing.
