Michael Carrick Named Premier League Manager of the Month for January

Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month for January following a strong start to his tenure.

Carrick assumed responsibility from Ruben Amorim in mid-January and quickly made an impact, guiding United to back-to-back statement victories against the league’s top two sides. The run began with a 2-0 win in the Manchester Derby against Manchester City, before a dramatic 3-2 triumph over Arsenal — handing the North London side their first home defeat of the season under Mikel Arteta.

Since then, Carrick has extended his unbeaten start as United boss, recording additional wins over Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur, before playing out a draw against West Ham United on Tuesday.

Reacting to the award, Carrick said: “It’s nice and it shows that we’ve had a very good start, you know, but let’s be honest, it’s not just about me really.

“I think it’s about everyone, you know: it’s about the staff, the coaching staff, the backroom staff, the players definitely.

“It shows that we’ve had a good start, which is very pleasing.”

Carrick secured the accolade following a public vote, finishing ahead of Andoni Iraola of Bournemouth, Liam Roseniorof Chelsea, and Sean Dyche of Nottingham Forest, who has since left The City Ground.

The recognition marks a significant milestone in his managerial career as he continues to build momentum at Old Trafford.
