Afrobeats superstar Davido has finally reacted to his loss at the 68th GRAMMY Awards, sharing a message of faith and resilience after missing out on the Best African Music Performance category.
Taking to Instagram, Davido posted stylish photos from the award night alongside his wife, Chioma Adeleke, and summed up his response in a simple but powerful line: “Oluwa dey my side.” The post was accompanied by prayer and music-themed symbols, signalling gratitude and perseverance despite the setback.
The awards ceremony was held on Sunday night at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. Davido was nominated for “With You” featuring Omah Lay, but ultimately lost the category to South African star Tyla, whose hit song Push 2 Start clinched the prize.
The category featured stiff competition, with Nigerian heavyweights Burna Boy nominated for “Love”, Ayra Starr and Wizkid for “Gimme Dat”, as well as Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin for “Hope & Love”.
Tyla’s win marked her second GRAMMY, having previously taken home the award in 2024 for her global hit “Water.”
Despite missing out, Davido’s reaction struck a chord with fans, many of whom flooded social media with messages of pride, encouragement, and congratulations—insisting that his impact on African music remains undiminished.
Once again, the singer made it clear that while trophies matter, faith and consistency remain at the core of his journey.
