American singer, Christina Aguilera, has sparked outrage among fans following her recent performance in Mexico City.

The 45-year-old performed at a one-off concert earlier this week but drew criticism after mistakenly addressing the crowd by saying, “I love you so much New Mexico!”, referencing the U.S. state instead of the Latin American country.

Fans also expressed dissatisfaction with the show, claiming it lasted just 55 minutes despite being advertised as a two-hour performance, and noting that the singer arrived late on stage.

“I was there, worst show ever,” one fan wrote on social media. “Omg I liked her but she gave Mexico a half-hearted low cost show.”

Others criticized the overall production, pointing out that plastic tarps were used to cover equipment due to rain, which affected the stage setup.

“The show was extremely short,” another attendee wrote. “It didn’t even last an hour, including interludes. She took the stage over an hour late for a 55 minute show. Many songs were shortened, the stage production was lackluster, the lighting was terrible, and she even mentioned New Mexico (the US state) instead of Mexico.”

The performance also reportedly excluded some of her popular songs, including Candyman and Come On Over.

Aguilera is scheduled to continue her tour with upcoming performances in Costa Rica this weekend and Abu Dhabi in April.
