Islamic scholar Ahmad Gumi has stated that the Federal Government of Nigeria is aware of the identities and locations of terrorists operating in the country.
Gumi made the remark during an interview on DRTV while responding to claims that he maintains relationships with terrorists and bandits and acts as an advocate for them.
The cleric explained that his engagements with such groups were carried out alongside security agencies and traditional leaders as part of efforts to facilitate dialogue.
According to him, “The government knows every terrorist by name and location. I don’t go alone to negotiate — I go with the police, military, and other security agencies.
“I would go to the Emirs. In fact, when we went to one forest. I even went with women into the bush,” he said.
