Nigerian singer Timaya has once again expressed his opposition to the institution of marriage.
In a video circulating on social media, the music star — whose real name is Inetimi Timaya Odon — was seen speaking with fellow Nigerian artistes Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, and Phyno.
During the conversation, he advised young men to focus on having children rather than getting married, claiming that marriage does not work.
“Just born pikin. Pikin go grow. This marriage thing nor dey work,” he said.
The singer has previously shared similar views about marriage. In June 2022, Timaya hinted that he might never get married.
In a post shared on his X handle at the time, he stated that Jesus Christ never got married and described himself as “Christ-like,” suggesting he might also choose not to marry.
Despite his stance on marriage, the singer has four children with three different women.
