Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has emerged as one of the standout nominees for the 2026 edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, following the release of the nomination list on Sunday night.
Lateef secured five nominations, including Best Lead Actor and multiple mentions in the Best Supporting Actor category. His film Lisabi also picked up nominations, including recognition for Best Indigenous Movie and Best Makeup.
Leading the overall nominations is The Herd, directed by Daniel Etim-Effiong, which earned nine nominations across both major and technical categories.
Veteran actress Sola Sobowale also had a strong showing, receiving nominations in both lead and supporting categories, while Uzor Arukwe appeared in multiple categories.
For Genoveva Umeh, this year marks a major career milestone as she earned her first nomination for Best Lead Actress.
The AMVCA, organised annually by MultiChoice, remains one of the biggest platforms recognising excellence in African film and television, bringing together talents from across the continent to celebrate storytelling and creativity.
