Manchester City defeated Arsenal FC 2-0 on Sunday to win the Carabao Cup, with youngster Nico O’Reilly scoring both goals in a dominant second-half display.
O’Reilly struck twice with headers within a four-minute spell after the break, leaving Arsenal stunned and effectively deciding the final.
The victory marks another milestone for City manager Pep Guardiola, as he secured a record fifth League Cup title.
Arsenal, who came into the match chasing an ambitious quadruple, saw their hopes dashed by the defeat.
The Gunners did threaten a comeback, hitting the woodwork twice through substitutes Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel Jesus, but were unable to find a breakthrough.
Manchester City, showing composure and experience, controlled the closing stages to secure the trophy and end Arsenal’s pursuit of multiple titles this season.
