Manchester City F.C. midfielder Rodri has avoided a ban from the The Football Association after he criticised referees during his team’s 2–2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur F.C. last month.
Rodri was reportedly angered after Dominic Solanke’s first goal for Tottenham was allowed to stand instead of being ruled out.
The Spanish international admitted the charge brought against him and has now been fined £80,000.
He was also warned about his future conduct following a disciplinary hearing.
The decision comes as a boost for City manager Pep Guardiola and his team as they continue their pursuit of Arsenal F.C., who currently lead the Premier League standings.
Both sides are also scheduled to meet in the final of the EFL Cup next season.
