Nigerian music star Burna Boy has finally addressed the controversy surrounding his reported altercation with DJ Tunez, offering his own version of events while also taking a swipe at Wizkid.
Speaking during an Instagram Live session, the Grammy-winning artist denied claims that members of his team attacked the DJ, insisting that he alone was involved in the incident.
According to Burna Boy, the confrontation did not escalate as widely reported, stating that it was limited to just “a couple of slaps.”
“No be 10 people touch DJ Tunez, na only me and na only two slaps I give am,” he said, pushing back against allegations that his crew participated in the altercation.
He further claimed that he deliberately prevented others from getting involved.
“I tell people make them no touch am. Na only me touch am,” he added.
Burna Boy also expressed disappointment with Wizkid’s reaction to the situation, suggesting that he expected a more direct approach rather than social media commentary.
“He comes go dey tweet, I think say he go send squad… na internet their own power dey. We na real life our own power dey,” he said, mocking what he described as Wizkid’s reliance on online responses.

The singer went on to suggest that he initially thought the situation would escalate further, but was surprised that it remained limited to online exchanges.
The controversy stems from reports of a clash at a Lagos nightclub, where eyewitness accounts claimed that Burna Boy and members of his team confronted DJ Tunez, with some alleging that multiple individuals were involved.
In response, DJ Tunez reportedly criticised Burna Boy, describing his actions as weak and maintaining that he stood his ground despite being outnumbered.
“no be 10 people beat DJ Tunez, na only me and na only two slaps i give am. i swear with my mama, if i dey lie make ogun carry my mama go anywhere wey Wizkid mama dey… he come go dey tweet, i think say he go send squad. na internet their own power dey.” — Burna Boy speaks! 🗣️ pic.twitter.com/J3LTyuZSGs
