Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, has had his prison sentence slightly reduced, with his release date moved forward.
According to reports by People magazine, citing the Federal Bureau of Prisons website, his release has been brought forward by 10 days. This follows an earlier adjustment that had already reduced his sentence by more than a month. He is now expected to be released on April 15, 2028.
Diddy is currently serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted last summer on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Prior to his sentencing, he spent about a year in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center after being denied bail. He is now incarcerated at FCI Fort Dix, located about 40 miles outside Philadelphia.
His legal team had requested his transfer to the facility, citing access to rehabilitation programmes and its proximity to his family. Combs has since been enrolled in a drug-abuse rehabilitation programme, which may contribute to further reductions in his sentence through good behaviour credits.
In December, his lawyers formally appealed both his conviction and sentence, arguing that the encounters at the centre of the case were consensual and that the punishment was excessive.
However, on February 20, federal prosecutors urged an appellate court to uphold the ruling, describing Diddy as a repeat offender who used violence and threats.
His legal team has continued to challenge the outcome, calling the sentence a “perversion of justice” and seeking “immediate release and a judgment of acquittal or at least vacate and remand for resentencing.”
Oral arguments in the appeal are scheduled for April 9.
