“If Government Can’t Defend You, Defend Yourself” — Pastor Ibiyeomie Raises Alarm Over Attacks on Christians

"Any Demon That Change To Rat" Is Already Afraid You, Don’t Pray, Use Trap - Pastor David Ibiyeomie

Founder of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie, has voiced concern over the rising wave of attacks on Christians in Nigeria, urging believers to take responsibility for their safety if authorities fail to provide adequate protection.

Speaking during a recent sermon, the cleric condemned the continued violence against churches, worshippers, and Christian communities, particularly in parts of Northern Nigeria, describing the situation as alarming.

“Killing of Christians must stop in Nigeria. Christians need to wake up,” he said.

Ibiyeomie drew a comparison with Israel, noting that despite its size and security challenges, the country has remained resilient due to its readiness to defend itself.

“Israel is a small nation and they didn’t allow Arabs to wipe them out. If government can’t defend you, defend yourself. Get yourself a walking stick,” he added.

The pastor stressed that while citizens expect protection from the government, individuals must also be prepared to safeguard themselves when security systems fall short.

His comments reflect growing frustration among religious leaders and communities who believe more decisive action is needed from authorities to address insecurity and protect lives.

The remarks are likely to generate further debate around the balance between state responsibility and individual self defense, especially in a country grappling with ongoing security challenges.
