Media personality Roby Ekpo has issued an apology following reactions to his emotional interview about the collapse of his marriage to Mayowa Lambe.
Roby had sparked widespread discussion after breaking down in tears during a podcast appearance where he opened up about the failed marriage and his personal pain, drawing both sympathy and criticism online.
While some praised his vulnerability, others questioned why details of a private separation were being aired publicly.
Now responding to the backlash, Roby shared a reflective message apologizing to those offended by his emotional outpouring.
“For those whose tears I offended, I am sorry. Pain leaves the body in many forms,” he wrote.
The statement has since stirred fresh reactions, with many seeing it as a response to criticism that followed the interview.
Roby also suggested he is turning his focus toward healing and rebuilding himself.
“My heart feels lighter and free… From this point, it’s my work, my career and my undying passion to be good to myself and be softer with myself. I am on a journey. Every other matter is being handled by my lawyers,” he said.
His remarks come amid the wider public dispute surrounding his separation from Mayowa Lambe, which has already involved legal threats, accusations, and counterclaims.
Mayowa had earlier issued a cease-and-desist notice accusing him of defamation and seeking damages, allegations Roby has denied, while also making his own claims.
With emotions and legal tensions still surrounding the split, Roby’s latest message appears aimed at shifting attention away from controversy and toward personal healing.
The apology has continued to generate mixed reactions, with some applauding his honesty while others remain divided over the interview that sparked it all.
