Nigerian Celebrities Mock Uche Maduagwu as Actress Funmi Bank Anthony beat him to Pop

Controversial Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu is back in the spotlight after a messy confrontation with Yoruba actress Funmi Bank Anthony, which has become a viral talking point online.

A video circulating on social media captured what appeared to be a heated altercation between the two at a cinema in Lagos, with the confrontation reportedly escalating into a physical clash.

According to eyewitness accounts, Funmi allegedly attacked Uche after he insulted her during the exchange.

The incident comes amid an already heated feud between the two actors, with Funmi previously suing the controversial actor for 100 million naira over claims linking her to the alleged fallout between actresses Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham.

With the video now making rounds online, reactions have poured in, with many social media users questioning whether the incident was genuine or another publicity stunt.

Actor Mofe Duncan appeared amused by the recurring drama, joking, “This guy needs an award for the most beat up guy on social media.”

Makeup artist Adewunmi Fatai also reacted humorously, writing, “Na why my woman no dey mingle. Na she don vex, beat the boy now.”

Actor Somadina Adinma expressed scepticism, suggesting the whole episode may have been staged.

“Must be acting cos why e dey comot shirt, to fight a woman? Lunacy,” he wrote.

Several others also questioned why similar drama involving Uche often seems to happen around cinema locations, with some suggesting it could be linked to movie promotion tactics.

One user wrote, “Why is it always around the cinema? You people think we don’t think like normal human beings? This format don cast.”

Another commented, “Same format since 2015. Even China phone don upgrade since then.”

Others joked that the actor seems repeatedly “booked” for viral beatdown scenes more than movie roles.

Despite the flood of mockery and speculation, neither Uche Maduagwu nor Funmi Bank Anthony has fully addressed whether the clash was real or staged.

What is clear, however, is that the dramatic encounter has once again put Uche at the center of online conversation, with many divided between outrage, amusement and suspicion that there may be more to the story than meets the eye.
