Manchester City’s pursuit of Erling Haaland has progressed significantly, with the club and the player’s representatives agreeing on terms.
According to Sportsmail, a sufficient financial package has been approved, which would make Haaland the Premier League’s highest-paid player, earning more than £500,000 a week.
Manchester City are now set to activate the 21-year-old striker’s £63 million release clause at Borussia Dortmund, and a five-year agreement could be completed in the next week or two if everything goes according to plan.
BVB sporting director, Sebastian Kehl: “There is a release clause and a deadline [for Erling Haaland]. We want a decision as soon as possible. We are in talks. The sooner there is a decision, the better it will be, and I hope it will be timely.”
