Overcompensating to make a relationship work is mentally draining – Betty Irabor cautions people against making sacrifices

Betty Irabor, the publisher, has counseled unmarried people not to make sacrifices in their relationships in the hopes of a better outcome.

Mrs. Irabor remarked in a thread on her Twitter account that making sacrifices in a relationship should be voluntary and not done with the intention of coercing the other party’s emotions to do one’s bidding.

She mentioned in her thread that overcompensation to keep a relationship going can be mentally taxing.
