Kalidou Koulibaly will miss Chelsea’s Champions League match against Red Bull Salzburg due to a knee injury that prevented him from playing against Manchester United.
Koulibaly was not among the 21-man Chelsea squad that traveled to Red Bull Salzburg on Monday. The defender has been sidelined once more due to a knee injury suffered against Brentford. On Saturday, he was absent from Chelsea’s game against Manchester United.
Even though competition for spots is fierce when all of Chelsea’s defenders are completely healthy, the Senegal captain has adjusted to life at Stamford Bridge quite quickly. He has participated in eight of their team’s 13 Premier League games thus far, missing just one due to a red card-related suspension.
Reece James, N’Golo Kante, and Wesley Fofana are all out for lengthy periods of time for the Blues, adding Koulibaly to their list of important players who are injured.
