Lionel Messi failed to appear during Inter Miami’s 4-1 loss to Philadelphia Union on Sunday and a supporter of Inter Miami who was hoping to see Lionel Messi in action was let down.
The fan travelled one thousand two hundred miles (1,931.21 kilometers) and a long way from Florida, to watch the game. Unfortunately, he was unaware that Messi would not make his debut until a later time. The fact that he couldn’t see Messi in action broke his heart even if he didn’t have the knowledge.
Messi’s absence made the fan’s anger at Inter Miami’s humbling loss much worse. His desire to meet Messi was so intense that he brought a sign that read, “I travelled 1,200 miles to see the Goat.” He tossed the banner away, however, and left the stadium in a fit of rage and sadness.
To make matters worse, the fan was made fun of, with even the Philadelphia Union’s Twitter administrator making fun of him.
