EPL: We fought to sign Mount from Chelsea – Ten Hag

Mason Mount: Midfielder says move from Chelsea to Man Utd is right step for his career

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, asserts that they were successful in luring Mason Mount away from Chelsea this summer despite stiff competition.

An agreement worth £60 million was negotiated between the Premier League opponents and the Red Devils.

In a preseason friendly triumph over Leeds United on Wednesday, Mount made his United debut.

Ten Hag discussed the competition they had from many teams to recruit the England midfielder after the game.

“We worked so hard to get this done. I think so many clubs were looking out for Mason, to sign him, and we succeeded.

“We are happy with that, he brings something in the midfield department. He’s a great team player as well and he knows how to win,” Ten Hag told Viaplay
