In a recent interview, Nigerian singer Korede Bello expressed that bringing joy to his fans is his top priority, even more so than achieving a Grammy award.
When asked about the importance of Nigerian musicians seeking validation from international platforms like the Grammys, Korede Bello emphasized that he values creating happiness through his music above all else.
He said, “Awards are good, but knowing that your music makes people happy is a better feeling.
“When an artiste makes it to the nomination list of a prestigious award, I believe they are already winners. But I believe in rewards from commercial success over awards.
“It is where you work that you will eat. Part of artistes’ food is validation for our art. Validation for making great art is good. And that can be very inspirational for others to make better art.”
