Former Barcelona footballer Dani Alves is currently looking for a loan to secure his release after being convicted of sexual assault by a Spanish court.
Alves has filed for an appeal and is waiting for a decision while also trying to obtain temporary freedom from jail.
Despite being granted bail by the judge, the Brazilian player is facing the challenge of coming up with a €1 million bail payment.
Unable to afford the bail on his own, Alves has reached out to Neymar’s father for help, but reportedly, his request has been turned down.
With time running out, Alves’s family, especially his mother and brother, are working hard to secure a loan to cover the bail amount, according to Football Espana.
If they are successful in securing the loan within the next 24 hours, Alves could be temporarily released from prison, on the condition that he surrenders his passports and stays away from the alleged victim of the sexual assault case.
