The news of Bobrisky’s arrest and arraignment in court struck the internet like a tsunami, and many netizens have been impatient for an update.
In an interview with TVC News, Bobrisky’s lawyer indicated that they could not do anything about the judgment’s adjournment to April 19th.
He also added that they had highlighted the applicable regulations regarding Bobrisky’s status as a first-time offender, and hence, he should not face harsh punishment.
Bobrisky’s Lawyer stated that the requisite fine for first-time offenders for money mutilation is #50,000 Naira or a six-month jail term. He said the EFCC had accepted Bobrisky’s request to pay the fine.
During the trial, Bobrisky apologized to the court and claimed that he would change, but he wasn’t aware that spraying money was a cream.
The EFCC’s acceptance of Bobrisky’s terms on the fine payment has not yet affected his release, as he is still in their custody.
So far, Bobrisky has spent over twenty-four hours in the hands of the EFCC over money mutilation, and videos even surfaced online of him spraying money at a party.
