The president’s office announced on Tuesday that Asma al-Assad, the wife of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who successfully battled breast cancer in 2019, has now been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.
“First Lady Asma al-Assad has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia,” it said in a statement.
