BBNaijaAllstars: Seyi Awolowo Shades 'Devil' During the PepperDem Season Who Thought The Show Was All About Her (Video)

Former Big Brother Naija housemate and now actor Seyi Awolowo shared the difficulties he encountered while growing up, which included being disowned by his father on numerous occasions.

In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Seyi, the grandson of the late nationalist Obafemi Awolowo, spoke openly about his challenging childhood in a polygamous household.

“My dad disowned me a couple of times. Not just me, a couple of us,” he said, highlighting the complex family dynamics he navigated.

He mentioned that his father, who had three wives, maintained detailed records on each of his children.

“My dad married more than one wife. He married three wives,” Seyi Awolowo revealed, adding that his father wrote letters to cut off his children, reducing their identities to mere names on a list.

“We all have files. As of right now, your name is just Seyi, full stop,” he said.

Asked if he considered this treatment abusive, Seyi affirmed, “Yes.”

He also shared a more positive chapter of his life, detailing how he met his wife at a wedding through mutual friends and got married in 2020. He reminisced:

“I met her with a group of friends at a wedding. You know, normally that time I was in the world,”

Seyi Awolowo, also an actor, addressed his time on the Big Brother Naija All Stars edition last year.

He spoke about his controversial comments and altercations with fellow Big Brother Naija stars Tacha and Ilebaye.

He expressed remorse and mentioned apologizing to Ilebaye, demonstrating his growth and willingness to make amends.

Seyi Awolowo’s acting career saw him play Kehinde in the 2022 movie Brotherhood.
