Actress Ayo Mogaji Shares Inspiring Story of Having First Child at 40 Despite One Fallopian Tube

Ayo Mogaji, a veteran Nollywood actress, recounted her remarkable life story in an open podcast conversation with fellow actress Abiola Adebayo.

Ayo Mogaji’s story includes her road to motherhood, health challenges, and her experience in an abusive marriage.

She revealed that she became a mother at the age of 40, beating medical odds despite losing one fallopian tube owing to ectopic pregnancy.

She described a frightening event in which she endured a 7-9 hour emergency surgery, with physicians unsure of her survival. “There was a time when doctors doubted whether I would survive,” Mogaji said, underlining her faith and tenacity throughout this difficult time.

Despite these obstacles, Mogaji eventually gave birth naturally, embracing motherhood later in life than most.

The actress also bravely discussed her 13-year experience in an abusive marriage. She advised, “When matrimony restricts your freedom and subjects you to abuse—physically, mentally, and emotionally—it’s essential to prioritize your well-being and safety.” Mogaji expressed skepticism about reconciliation with her ex-husband, citing deep-rooted issues including jealousy.

Throughout her story, Mogaji emphasized resilience, faith, and the importance of self-preservation. Her openness about these personal struggles offers a powerful message of empowerment to women facing similar challenges in relationships and motherhood.
