Cristiano Ronaldo vows to reach 1,000 career goals

Cristiano Ronaldo Breaks Record In Al Nassr’s 5-1 Win Today

Cristiano Ronaldo believes having footage of his goals gives him an advantage over legendary goal scorers like Pele, who is often considered the highest goalscorer of all time.

With Ronaldo reaching a career total of 899 goals after scoring for Al Nassr, the debate over Pele’s record of 1,281 goals (or 1,284 according to some sources) continues.

Pele achieved his impressive goal tally through approximately 550 exhibition matches, and while his total in official matches is believed to be less than 800, the credibility of these records remains a topic of discussion.

“Soon I will do 900 and, after, I will beat 1,000,” Ronaldo said on his YouTube channel, speaking to former Manchester United team-mate Rio Ferdinand.

“I want to reach 1,000 goals. If I don’t have injuries, this, for me, is the most important. It’s the best marker I can have in football, to first reach 900.

“After, my challenge is to reach 1,000 goals. [There will be] one difference: all of my goals have videos, so I can prove that.”
