Portugal’s captain, Cristiano Ronaldo grew emotional after scoring the 900th goal of his incredible career in a UEFA Nations League match against Croatia.
After putting the ball into the net, the Al-Nassr striker covered his face on the pitch, but a Dalot own-goal cut Croatia’s deficit shortly before halftime.
Following Diogo Dalot’s seventh-minute opener, 39-year-old Ronaldo scored Portugal’s 131st goal and the 900th of his long career, sweeping home Nuno Mendes’ exquisite cross on Thursday night at Estadio da Luz.
Ronaldo will be remembered as one of the greatest footballers of all time.
Apart from the World Cup, he has won every major trophy available to him in a glittering career that has included spells with Real Madrid, Manchester United, Juventus, and more.
And despite approaching 40, he still proves his worth for club and country.
