EPL: Ndidi surpasses Jay-Jay Okocha’s record

Super Eagles to launch new jersey against South Africa

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, surpassed Nigerian legend Austin Jay-Jay Okocha’s Premier League assists record on Saturday.

Ndidi achieved this milestone by providing two assists in Leicester City’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.

Manager Steve Cooper placed him in an attacking midfield role, where he set up goals for Jamie Vardy and Stephy Mavididi.

With a total of 12 assists in the Premier League, Ndidi surpassed Okocha’s record of 10 assists during his time in England.

While Okocha scored 14 goals and provided 10 assists in 125 Premier League games for Bolton Wanderers, Arsenal legend Nwankwo Kanu holds the title for the most assists by a Nigerian player in Premier League history, with 33 assists to his name.
