After dropping jaws and winning ratings with their Nickelodeon child abuse exposé ‘Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,’ ID (Investigation Discovery) hopes to duplicate the feat by shedding light on Chris Brown’s alleged history of domestic violence.
In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, ID will debut its third annual ‘No Excuse for Abuse’ campaign, which will begin with ‘Chris Brown: A History of Violence.’
The documentary, which is set to premiere on October 27, will look into the sexual and physical assault allegations the GRAMMY winner has faced since that headline-grabbing incident with pop diva Rihanna, in which she suffered several facial injuries at his hands and was hospitalized.
“With expert and cultural commentary layered throughout, the documentary provides thoughtful reflections into each survivor’s experience and the psychological destruction in the aftermath of their abuse,” reveals the made-for-TV film’s logline. “[It will review] Chris Brown’s past all the way back to his troubled childhood, explores the lasting impact of the cycle of abuse, and poses the question: how does a man with such a violent public record maintain his superstar status?”
As seen in the trailer above, a new accuser comes forward with allegations of abuse against Brown. At this time her identity has not been revealed.
