Nigerian sensation Burna Boy has been the center of social media chatter as South Africans poke fun at the artist ahead of Chris Brown’s highly anticipated concert in Johannesburg in December.
Burna Boy, often known as the “African Giant,” was forced to cancel his highly anticipated South African tour in 2023 owing to low ticket sales and other logistical concerns.
Fast forward to the buildup to Chris Brown’s concert at the historic FNB Stadium, and the atmosphere is drastically different.
South Africans have rushed to social media to express their excitement for the US R&B star’s comeback, with many predicting a sold-out event.
Fans are optimistic Brown will fill the big stadium, something Burna failed to do.
As the countdown to Chris Brown’s concert begins, fans compare the two global superstars, with Burna Boy getting the brunt of the jokes.
“Chris Brown is one of the biggest artists of our generation, man. He will always sell out no matter where he goes. This isn’t Burna Boy we’re talking about,” one person joked, as others proceeded to mock Burna’s inability to sell tickets in the country.
With Chris Brown’s fan base eagerly anticipating the December event, enthusiasm is evidently growing, adding gasoline to Burna Boy’s earlier attempt at lighthearted teasing.
