Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca has downplayed suggestions that his team could win the English Premier League, stating that they are not yet prepared for such an achievement.
The team currently holds the fourth position in the table, behind Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal.
Despite a strong start to the season with four wins, one draw, and a loss to Manchester City, Maresca believes that more time is needed for the team to find balance under his leadership, which has been for just three months.
“Competing to win the PL? I really don’t think we can compete with Man City or Arsenal now. We are not ready.
Man City worked with Pep for nine years. Arsenal, five years. Us, three months…”. “The target is to slowly, slowly… get closer [sic],” a tweet by football journalist Fabrizio Romano on X.com read Friday afternoon.
In their recent match against Brighton, Palmer, 22, set a new record by scoring four goals in the first half of their 4-2 victory at Stamford Bridge.
