Cole Palmer has been named EA SPORTS Player of the Month for September 2024. Palmer led the Premier League in both goals and goal involvement in September, according to the news on Friday via the official EPL website, scoring five times and assisting once in only four outings.
Palmer’s most impressive performance came in Chelsea’s 6-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion when he became the first player in Premier League history to score four goals in the first half.
His astonishing four-goal haul came in 21 minutes, demonstrating his tremendous finishing skill and poise under pressure.
This crushing performance alone cemented his spot in the league’s history.
In addition to his goal-scoring heroics against Brighton, Palmer also assisted in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace and once again found the back of the net during Chelsea’s 3-0 win over West Ham United. These contributions further solidified his case for the award.
This is Palmer’s second Player of the Month award, with his first coming in April 2024.
His consistency is evident; he has now won two of the last three available awards.
The 22-year-old topped an eight-man shortlist after a public vote on the EA SPORTS website was combined with the votes of a panel of football experts.
Palmer has already started strongly in October, assisting in a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest.
He currently leads the Premier League with 11 goal involvements this season. He will be looking to add to his tally when Chelsea return to action against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, 20 October.
