The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Saturday conferred three points and three goals to the Super Eagles subsequent to the unsuccessful 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya.
The Super Eagles fortified their leading position within the group as a result of the ruling.
The Nigerian contingent now possesses 10 points accrued from four matches, thereby establishing a four-point advantage over their closest competitors, Benin.
Libya continues to occupy the last position in the group with a mere one point.
A draw against Benin in Abidjan in the forthcoming month will secure qualification for the Super Eagles for the 2025 AFCON, which is scheduled to be hosted by Morocco in December 2025.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) additionally imposed a monetary fine of $50,000 on the Libya Football Federation.
This financial penalty is mandated to be settled within a 60-day timeframe following the notification of the decision.
