Tosin Silverdam, a social media commentator, has commented on the controversy between musicians Flavour N’abania and KCee.
The controversy began when Flavour accused KCee of mimicking his music style, prompting KCee to respond with criticism of his own.
In an Instagram post, Silverdam pointed out that Flavour frequently samples other artists’ songs, implying that many of his tracks are indeed samples.
“Do you know that most of Flavour’s songs are not original? They are copied, they are samples,” Silverdam stated.
He further noted that although there’s nothing inherently wrong with sampling songs, Flavour shouldn’t criticize others for doing the same.
In Silverdam’s words, “There’s nothing wrong with sampling songs but for the fact that he was even saying someone is copying him whereas you yourself, you dey copy. Most of his songs, most of his discography, they’re all copied.”
In his video, Silverdam also included snippets of several songs that he says inspired Flavour’s hits.
These include ‘Sawale‘ by Cardinal Rex Jim Lawson, ‘Naomi‘ by Okoro Bobo, ‘My Sweety‘ by Bunny Mack, ‘She’s My Choice‘ by Sweet Breeze, ‘She’s Gone‘ by Bob Marley, and ‘Osondi Owendi‘ by Osita Osadebe, among others.
