As the November international break approaches, England’s national team has been forced to make significant last-minute roster changes for the UEFA Nations League.
With eight players absent due to injury, Lee Carsley has called up new faces to prepare the team for their next games against Greece and the Republic of Ireland.
In a late Monday-night announcement titled “England Squad Updates: November 2024,” the English national football team disclosed dramatic changes to its lineup in response to a spate of injuries.
Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers has earned his first senior call-up, marking a significant milestone for the young forward.
Joining him in the refreshed lineup are Jarrod Bowen, Jarrad Branthwaite, Tino Livramento, and James Trafford—all set to bolster Lee Carsley’s squad amid the sudden roster changes.
“This follows the loss of eight players ahead of this week’s UEFA Nations League fixtures,” the team’s statement revealed, listing the missing players: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Levi Colwill, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Cole Palmer, Aaron Ramsdale, Declan Rice, and Bukayo Saka.
The reshaped 23-man squad will be heading to Greece for Thursday’s match before returning to Wembley for Sunday’s showdown against the Republic of Ireland.
The statement read: “Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers has received his first senior call-up. Jarrod Bowen and Jarrad Branthwaite, along with the uncapped Tino Livramento and James Trafford, have also been added to Lee Carsley’s squad.
