Summer Walker sparked a frenzy among fans when she revealed her new album, ‘Finally Over It. ‘ The fever rose even higher when she released the lead single, ‘Heart of a Woman.’
The latter was the R&B singer’s biggest debut on the Billboard Hot 100, so the era is off to a strong start.
Instead of resting on her laurels, Walker has hit the promotional circuit, including a rare interview with Big Boy in the Neighborhood.
During the insightful sitdown chat, the star spoke about the incoming project and its sound.
“We still working on it. I personally feel we are about done, but they want me to keep going and keep pushing. Just to see what else you can get. You never know. It’s always at every end that you go ‘oh, ‘didn’t know we were gonna get that one’.”
As for how she’s approaching the sound of the material this go round, she said:
“I don’t care. I have tunnel vision. I like to think about what I’m doing now. When I start looking (at what I once did or what others are doing)..that’s when you just have to focus on what you’re doing. I know (my team) are just excited for me…but I’m like ‘I got it.’”
