Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has warned ahead of their high-stakes Premier League clash with Liverpool.
The Englishman tells his teammates their current form could get them “walked over” at Anfield.
City’s 4-0 defeat to Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium was their fifth successive loss, a streak not seen since 2006.
This terrible run puts the defending champions five points behind Liverpool, who can expand the deficit to eight points with a win over Southampton on Sunday.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Walker acknowledged the urgency of the situation.
“It’s a great game to turn it around and take three points from the team who sit above you. But we can’t put in a performance like that or we’ll get walked over.”
City’s immediate challenge is a Champions League clash with Feyenoord on Tuesday, followed by the crucial showdown at Anfield.
Walker also emphasized the need to rediscover their form quickly.
“The best way to turn this round is on Tuesday. Hopefully, the mojo comes back, and we see the normal City from the past eight seasons.”
