Marilyn Manson, 55, has discontinued all legal action against his ex-girlfriend, Evan Rachel Wood, following her public sexual assault charges.
According to ‘TMZ’, the artist, whose real name is Brian Warner, not only abandoned his complaint and appeal but also agreed to pay Wood’s $327,000 legal fees, as previously directed by the judge.
“After four years of fighting a battle where he was able to tell the truth, Brian is pleased to dismiss his still-pending claims and appeal to close the door on this chapter of his life,” said Manson’s attorney, Howard King.
Wood’s legal team, speaking to Rolling Stone, revealed that Manson had sought a settlement during his August appeal, offering to release a joint statement and pay a percentage of her legal costs if she agreed to keep the terms private.
Wood, 37, declined the offer.
Ultimately, Manson chose to cover the full legal costs and dropped his lawsuit entirely, marking an end to the high-profile legal battle.
