Many Feared Dead As Terrorists Bomb Catholic Church In Ondo

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has verified a chemical explosion at 291 Old Abeokuta Motor Road, across from Vetland Secondary School in the Agege area of the state.

Reports indicate that one individual sustained severe injuries in the incident that occurred around 6pm on Friday. Margaret Adeseye, the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Saturday.

She stated that the Fire and Rescue team from Agege successfully managed to contain the situation shortly after it was reported.

She said the crew doused the “fire from the explosion of sets of varying kegs sizes containing unknown chemicals stored in an open fenced-gated land”.

“While investigation into the ownership and type of chemical is ongoing, it was discovered that heat radiation is attributed to the explosion of the chemical which was kept unprotected from sunlight.

“The rescued lady is however responding to treatment from sustained first degree burns”, the statement added.
