The 2025 Critics Choice Awards have been postponed as Los Angeles battles wildfires.
The event, initially scheduled for this Sunday (January 12), has been formally paused.
The news was disseminated on social media.
The 30th annual Critics Choice Awards ceremony has been postponed from January 12th to January 26th due to the catastrophic fires ravaging Southern California.
The rescheduled event will remain at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, and will be broadcast live on E! and around the world. The next day, it will also be available on Peacock.
The ceremony is the latest high-profile event affected by the harrowing fires, which have caused ample damage, forced thousands to evacuate, and resulted in many people losing their homes.
The first fire ignited near Pacific Palisades, followed by the Eaton Fire near Pasadena and the Hurst Fire in San Fernando Valley.
All have caused California Governor Gavin Newsom to formally declare a state of emergency.
Our thoughts are with all those affected.
