Chris Brown has filed a $500 million (£405 million) lawsuit against Warner Bros following the release of the Investigation Discovery docuseries Chris Brown: A History of Violence.
The R&B singer claims the series wrongly labeled him “a serial rapist and a sexual abuser.”
Court documents obtained by Page Six reveal that Brown is accusing the producers, including Warner Bros, of libel and intentionally causing emotional distress by making defamatory claims against him.
Brown alleges that the series was based on a dismissed lawsuit that was “full of lies.”
He claims that Warner Bros, Ample Entertainment, and an unidentified woman produced the docuseries to tarnish his reputation, despite his efforts to rebuild it over the years.
Chris Brown also acknowledged his past guilty plea for assaulting Rihanna in 2009.
The suit acknowledges the Superhero singer has made mistakes in the past, but has since “grown from those experiences”.
Since the docuseries was released in October last year, Brown alleged his reputation and career have suffered.
The singer pledged to donate a portion of the $500 million (£405 million) he’s seeking to sexual abuse victims if awarded.
