South African singer MaWhoo, real name Thandeka Nontobeko Ngema, has publicly called out Life Fourways Hospital for what she describes as poor treatment and racial discrimination.
Taking to social media, the Gucci hitmaker shared her frustration over the hospital’s alleged bias, claiming that her cousin—who was in urgent need of medical attention—was ignored in favor of white patients.
“LIFE-FOURWAYS HOSPITAL service is very poor; they treat people like dogs. I’ve never been embarrassed like that,” she wrote.
MaWhoo recounted that while her cousin struggled to breathe, staff allegedly prioritized a white couple who arrived after them.
“My cousin is very sick. She can barely breathe, but instead, they are rude & ignoring, entertaining the white couple who came after her.”
She expressed shock at the incident, stating that she had expected better service from a private hospital.
“I thought private hospitals would assist fast. When we told them we needed help, they said we were rushing. Some people are so disrespectful. The only people they prioritise are white people. I don’t wish anyone to experience this.”
MaWhoo’s allegations have sparked a conversation about racial bias in healthcare, with fans rallying behind her in support. The hospital has yet to respond to her claims.
