Kemi Badenoch, leader of the UK’s Conservative Party, praised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as a hero following his tense exchange with US President Donald Trump.
The clash in the Oval Office was related to the war with Russia, and Trump and Vice President JD Vance reportedly bullied Zelenskyy out of the discussion.
Despite this, Zelenskyy has continued to receive strong support from world leaders.
Kemi Badenoch took to her X handle to express her admiration for Zelenskyy, noting that he is a hero for standing up for the Ukrainian people.
She said, “I thought it was quite an extraordinary press conference and we all need to remember that President Zelenskyy is a hero.
“He represents the Ukrainian people’s strength and resistance to an authoritarian regime that is trying to destroy them.
“President Zelenskyy needs all of the support that he can get and I think it is inappropriate to conduct that kind of disagreement in front of the camera.
“The only person who benefits from that is President Putin”.
