Aliko Dangote, the president of the Dangote Group, has described how Ibikunle Amosun, the former governor of Ogun State, destroyed and hindered his cement facility at Itori, Ewekoro LGA, in the state.
According to him, the former governor’s annoyance caused him to shelve the investment till the arrival of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s government.
Dangote revealed this in a widely shared video that the Daily Post saw on Monday.
With the construction of the six million-ton-per-year cement factory, the state would become the nation’s largest producer of cement.
Dangote said, “The factory we are visiting now in Itori is because of his excellency that we are coming back. It was demolished twice. We started building it, and Governor Amosun will demolish it.
“The second time we restarted again, he demolished it, including the fence. So we left. But right now we are coming back with his excellency, my brother Dapo Abiodun.”Abiodun succeeded Amosun as governor of Ogun State, who held the position from May 29, 2011, to May 29, 2019.
